KALAMAZOO (MICH.)-Because the Michigan Merit Exam (MME) will be administered to KPS high school juniors and some seniors on March 6 through March 8, there will be no classes for non‐testing students on Tuesday, March 6.
All 9th, 10th and non‐testing 12th grade KPS students are invited to attend the free MME Community Day activities on that day. Activities include open recreation at Western Michigan University, open gym and swimming at the Maple Street YMCA, bowling at Airway Lanes, college tour of Western Michigan University with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Kalamazoo, and college planning at West Main Professional Development Center. Students will be supervised at all sites.
KPS buses will provide transportation between event locations from 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on March 6. Students must have their KPS ID to ride buses and enter the events. Additional bus stops will be located at the Boys & Girls Club, Douglass Community Center, New Horizons, and Eastside Neighborhood Association and Village Apartments. More information, including a bus schedule, has been mailed home to parents and is online at www.kalamazoopublicschools.com/MME2012.
