CASS COUNTY (MICH.)-Help yourself and meet others! Cass County Bridges Out of Poverty is hosting a Feburary Networking Event from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday, February 20 at the Action Center, 301 E. Main St., Dowagiac. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments are provided. Networking events are mixers that allow middle class people to support the efforts of people in poverty as they follow their plan to leave poverty behind.
Yogi Margaret Filchak will explain the eight paths of yoga, and share asanas or basic poses designed to provide strength and energy. She will talk about the toll stress takes on our bodies and how yoga counters stress. Margaret Filchak is a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance an international organization of yoga instructors. She completed her 200 hour program of instruction in 2009 through Green Tree School of Yoga, Elkhart, Indiana. After completing her studies, she began teaching at the Council on Aging in Cassopolis, Michigan and Sacred Waters Retreat Center in Mishawaka, Indiana. She has received advanced training with Kathleen Flanagan ERYT, owner of Yogamocean studio in Casper, California, and Master Instructor in Iyengar Yoga, H.S. Arun, Bombay India.
Filchak and her husband of 47 years live in Cassopolis. They have 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren. Besides her passion for Yoga, Margaret enjoys time with her family and working in her gardens.
