Presidential candidates invited to address citizen activists

LANSING (MICH.) – Fox News contributor and New York Times best-selling author Michelle Malkin will deliver a keynote address at the Michigan Prosperity Forum-Troy on Saturday, Feb. 25.  Other confirmed speakers for the daylong event, organized by the taxpayer group Americans for Prosperity-Michigan, include Andrew Breitbart, publisher of Breitbart.com and BigGovernment.com, and Frank Beckman, WJR talk radio host. All the presidential candidates have been invited to the event, which occurs just three days before Michigan’s primary, and is readily accessible to the public.

The keynote addresses will be followed by a boxed lunch and book-signings with Malkin and Breitbart. Attendees will then participate in panel discussions and grassroots training sessions aimed at helping them make a difference for economic freedom and limited government in 2012.

The Michigan Prosperity Forum-Troy will be held at the San Marino Club, 1685 E. Big Beaver Road, in Troy, Mich. Parking is free. For more information, or to register, please visit www.MichiganAFP.com or call toll-free 1 (855) 435-5109.

Individual admission is just $19.95, student admission costs $9.95, and families of any size can register for just $39.95. The first 100 people to register will receive a free copy of Malkin’s latest book, Culture of Corruption: Obama and His Team of Tax Cheats, Crooks, and Cronies.

Other speakers confirmed for the Michigan Prosperity Forum-Troy include:

  • Ann McElhinney, the Irish filmmaker who dared to take on Al Gore’s environmental extremism
  • Dr. Gary Wolfram, Hillsdale College professor of economics and public policy
  • F. Vincent Vernuccio, labor policy expert and editor of WorkplaceChoice.org
  • Matthew Vadum, author of Subversion, Inc: How Obama’s ACORN Red Shirts are Still Terrorizing and Ripping Off Taxpayers
  • Scott Hagerstrom, Americans for Prosperity-Michigan state director

We are excited to welcome one of America’s most highly regarded limited government commentators to the Detroit area,” said Scott Hagerstrom, state director of Americans for Prosperity-Michigan. “Michelle Malkin’s knowledge, influence and experience will help us shape the policy debate in both Lansing and Washington, DC.”

According to Hagerstrom, a team of local, state and national experts will lead panel discussions such as How to Appeal Your Property Taxes, Right to Work: Is Michigan Next? and the Dangerous Green Agenda. A legislative panel will focus on reforming the state’s no-fault auto insurance statute, education reform, and Gov. Snyder’s proposed Detroit-Canada Bridge. An on-site citizen action center will empower people to make a difference for limited government principles during the event.

As part of the overall event, AFP-Michigan will also host a special private reception on Friday, Jan. 13th, with special guests Michelle Malkin and Andrew Breitbart. Tickets for the private reception can also be purchased online by visiting www.MichiganAFP.com.
