KALAMAZOO (MICH.)–Two Western Michigan University business students took first place in a recent financial service industry competition, topping finalist teams from Texas Tech and William Paterson universities and each earning a $3,000 scholarship.
Team members Alison Huey, an accountancy major from Canton, Mich., and Joshua Kallen, an advertising and promotion major from Muskegon, Mich., won first place in the first Financial Services National Industry Issues Competition held in late January in Phoenix.

Bronson LakeView Family Care Suite A, welcomes new physician, Jeffery Libra, MD. Dr. Libra joins Zebi Naz, MD and physician assistants David Cummings and Autumn Hopkins. Prior to joining Bronson, Dr. Libra was the medical director of Heartland Hospice. He was also medical director and assistant professor at Grand Valley State University. He received his medical degree from The University of Michigan. Dr. Libra’s special interests include health and wellness, geriatrics and chronic disease management. Next month, CentraCare will begin redeveloping a 16,000 square foot facility at 445 West Michigan Avenue in downtown Kalamazoo with tentative plans to open it in January, 2013.
