HABI HOUR EVENT TO RAISE FUNDS AND ROOFS FOR HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

Kalamazoo Valley Habitat for Humanity will hold its first Habi Hour fundraiser, Tuesday, February 28, 5:01 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. in the new Back Room at Bell’s Brewery, 355 E. Kalamazoo Avenue, Kalamazoo. This official Habitat event will raise funds to help build and renovate seven to eight homes in 2012.
Tickets are $30 and are on sale at www.habitatkalamazoo.org. Guests will receive a commemorative Habi Hour beer stein and must be 21 years old to participate. Half of the ticket cost is tax deductible.

AUDITIONS
Senior Class Reader’s Theatre production of The Trip to Bountiful
Auditions will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 18 and Monday, March 19 in the Civic Auditorium, 329 S. Park Street. Those auditioning should plan on arriving a half hour early for processing of paperwork.
Director Kristin Tyrrell is seeking five men and three women age fifty and up, for leading and supporting roles. Everyone auditioning will be asked to read from the script.

INSIDE CIVIC WORKSHOP
A free Inside the Civic workshop will be held at 10 am on Saturday February 25 in the Carver Center, 426 S. Park St. to help those auditioning for The Trip to Bountiful best prepare for the audition. Advance registration is requested and may be made at volunteer@kazoocivic.com or by calling Director of Volunteers, Preston Misner at 343 – 2280.

AUDITIONS
DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS
The Kalamazoo Civic Theatre will hold auditions for its production of Dirty Rotten Scoundels at 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 18 and Monday, March 19 in the Carver Center, 426 S. Park Street. Those auditioning should plan on arriving a half hour early for processing of paperwork.
Director/Choreographer Tony Humrichouser (White Christmas) and Musical Director Patrick Coyle (All Shook Up) will be casting three men able to play mid thirties to mid sixties and three women able to play mid thirties to mid sixties for leading and supporting roles. An ensemble, including a chorus of pit singers will also be cast. Those auditioning will be asked to sing 16 measures of a song from the show. An accompanist will be provided. Those auditioning will be taught a short dance routine. Everyone auditioning must be 16 years old or older.
