Community Voices and Kalamazoo Public Schools’ Excelsior have teamed up to highlight the importance of literacy. This three-part series focuses on the importance of reading, writing, and interactive family learning, as a way to create a “Reading Community,” in Kalamazoo.
Dr. Michael F. Rice, superintendent of KPS has spearheaded several initiatives to inspire the community to get involved in literacy. Community Voices highlights literacy programs, and profiles area leaders in the field of education.
