Church Mission: To be obedient to the Bible – God’s Word – in carrying out the purpose of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for His church, through the Worship of God, the Salvation of the lost through missions projects both home and foreign, the Edification and Biblical Education of the Saints, the demonstration of a pattern of good works in the community, and by the living of holy lives before God and man.

History: Bible Baptist Church was founded in 1967 with 14 families. The small congregation met in the local YMCA until its home at 622 W. Kalamazoo Ave. was built. At that time, the Rev. King A. Butler was pastor and led the church until his retirement in 1992. Pastor Lavender and his families moved to Kalamazoo from their home in Cleveland, Ohio, to pastor the church in 1993. During Lavender’s leadership the church grew and moved into a new home in 2007. Its current location of 1700 N. Drake Road is undergoing continuous growth and additions.

Missions: In addition to the various church ministries, members of Bible Baptist financially and/or physically support such mission as: Kalamazoo Gospel Mission, Cedine Ministries, Awana Bible Club for kids, RBC Ministries, Carver Baptist Bible College, Forgotten Man Ministries and others.
