BACC Reception for Belinda Tate Standing-Room Only

The Black Arts and Cultural Center helped the community welcome Belinda Tate as the new director of the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. Tate, a native of Winston-Salem, N.C., shared of her passion for getting more members of the community into the Institute. She is the first African American director of the KIA. Community Voices was founded in 2005 by James and Arlene Washington in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The weekly print publication provided a unique opportunity to inform the multicultural community of news important to them. In addition, it provided an affordable advertising source for small businesses in the community.
